Privacy Policy

We're pretty straightforward about how we handle your info - because trust matters when you're sharing your architectural dreams with us.

Look, We Get It

Nobody actually enjoys reading these things, but we've tried to make ours as human as possible. Bottom line? We respect your privacy and won't do anything sketchy with your information. This policy's been effective since we opened our doors, and we update it whenever there's something worth mentioning.

At Onyx Renovation & Quintet Architecture, we're bound by Canadian privacy laws (yeah, PIPEDA and all that), but more importantly, we're bound by basic decency and professional ethics. Your project details, contact info, and everything else stays confidential.

What Info Do We Actually Collect?

We're not in the business of hoarding data - we only grab what helps us design amazing spaces for you:

Personal Stuff
  • Name and contact details
  • Property addresses
  • Project preferences
  • Budget info (if you share it)
Technical Bits
  • IP address & browser type
  • Pages you visit on our site
  • Time spent browsing
  • Device information

If you fill out our contact form or shoot us an email, that's how we get most of this. Sometimes we'll collect project-specific details during consultations, but we'll always tell you what we need and why.

What Do We Do With It?

Pretty straightforward, really. We use your information to:

  • Get back to you about your project inquiries (kinda the whole point)
  • Schedule site visits and consultations without playing phone tag
  • Prepare proposals and design concepts that actually fit what you're after
  • Keep you updated on your project's progress - we're big on communication
  • Handle invoicing and project documentation
  • Improve our website based on how people use it
  • Send occasional updates about our work (only if you've said it's cool)

We won't suddenly start spamming you with stuff you didn't ask for. That's annoying, and we're not about that.

Who Else Sees This Info?

We're not selling your data or anything shady like that. Here's when information might be shared:

Project Partners: Sometimes we work with structural engineers, contractors, or specialty consultants. They'll only see what's relevant to your project, and they're under the same confidentiality obligations we are.
Legal Stuff: If we're legally required to disclose something (court orders, regulatory requirements, etc.), we have to comply. Hasn't happened yet, but transparency matters.

That's pretty much it. We don't have a bunch of "third-party partners" or marketing affiliates or whatever. Your project details stay with the people working on your project.

Cookies & Tracking

Yeah, we use cookies - the digital kind, not the delicious kind (though we've been known to have those at the office too).

Our website uses basic cookies to remember your preferences and see which pages people find useful. We're talking standard stuff like:

  • Session cookies so the site functions properly
  • Analytics to understand what content people actually care about
  • Preference settings if you've adjusted anything

You can disable cookies in your browser settings if you want, though some parts of the site might not work as smoothly. We're not tracking your every move across the internet - we've got buildings to design.

Your Rights (The Important Bit)

Under Canadian privacy law, you've got some solid rights regarding your personal information:

Access

Want to know what info we have on you? Just ask. We'll show you.

Correction

Spot something wrong? We'll fix it right away.

Deletion

Want us to delete your info? We can do that (unless we legally need to keep it).

Portability

Need your data in a usable format? We'll export it for you.

To exercise any of these rights, just reach out to us using the contact info below. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe - usually within a week or so.

How We Keep Your Info Safe

We take security seriously - probably more seriously than we take our coffee orders (and that's saying something).

Our measures include:

  • Encrypted data transmission (that's the padlock you see in your browser)
  • Secure servers with regular security updates
  • Limited access - only team members who need your info for your project can see it
  • Regular backups stored securely
  • Password-protected systems and two-factor authentication

No system's 100% bulletproof, but we're doing everything reasonably possible to protect your information. If there's ever a security incident affecting your data, we'll let you know promptly and tell you what we're doing about it.

Updates to This Policy

We might update this policy occasionally - usually when there's a change in how we operate or if privacy laws change. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and let active clients know if it's something significant. We won't make any major changes to how we handle your information without giving you a heads up first.
